Boston Common

Chief Jene Survillo is shown riding Winston the horse in the Boston Common on January 31, 2012. According to Survillo horses are a great crime deterrent as they provide the police force with increased visibility.

Chief Jene Survillo sits on top of Winston the horse in the Boston Common on January 31, 2012. Winston is one of six horses that patrols the area. According to Survillo there is a mounted unit in the Boston Common every day. When Winston is not on duty he is brought to a stable in Franklin Park.
